The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nations on earth should be doing more to address global poverty. The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.

The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty.
With 20 years of experience in advocacy, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefitting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.
Political Affairs Programme: This role focuses on making poverty a focus of U.S., Canadian, and U.K. foreign policy. It is a part-time, 12-hours-per-week, 12-week unpaid remote program. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading public and political outreach in your state and district.
* Meeting with members of Congress/Government in your State/District/Constituency.
* Representing The Borgen Project at various events.
* Assisting with fundraising by creating personal campaigns and meeting targets.
* Mobilizing individuals to contact their government representatives in support of poverty-reduction legislation.
* Speaking to groups, classes, and organizations.
* Writing letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media, and other groups.
Experience: No prior experience necessary. We seek passionate individuals eager to fight poverty, regardless of background or GPA.
Details: This is an unpaid program; college credit is available.
Start Date: New programs start monthly. You can choose your start month.
