Science Teacher
New Directions is currently recruiting for a number of Science Teachers to work with our Secondary schools in the Newport area. This is a long-term full-time position, with an immediate start. There is also a strong possibility of the roles extending to the end of the academic year. These roles would also be an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teacher’s (NQT’s) as well as more experienced teachers.
You will have the ability to give pupils a good grounding in the subject, including the ability to question hypotheses, the skills to conduct experiments and the understanding to evaluate results. It is also essential to be able to engage students at a high level by bringing lessons to life with real-world applications. The right candidate should be able to provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are motivated and encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life to develop a wide-ranging skill set.

1. A passion for raising student expectations and achievements
2. The ability to build strong working relationships with staff and pupils
3. The ability to remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role
4. Eligible to work in the UK
