Supplier Manager – Dorchester (Dorset) - £50,000 plus fantastic benefits and annual bonus (with a potential relocation allowance)
Melbreck Technical are working with a leading designer and supplier of specialist equipment used in a huge range of industries across the globe and due to increase in supplier led initiatives in the UK they are looking for a Supplier Manager to join the business ASAP on a permanent basis.
As Supplier Manager you will be responsible for the performance and risk management of key suppliers, as well as the identification and delivery of value add opportunities.
Supplier Manager – Role overview and responsibilities:
* Identify and develop new suppliers/materials/technologies.
* Build and develop beneficial relationships with suppliers.
* Identify key suppliers and new suppliers.
* Development and implementation of Vendor Strategy.
* Risk management.
* Lead, oversee and carry out product and process audits.
* Control vendor selection for NPI (New Product Introductions)
* Communicate with UK quality manager and global head of supply chain.
* Work with vendors to ensure supply chain changes follow required change approval process.
* Investigate process non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, instigate corrective action and perform 8D’s where required
* Track and correct supplier performance.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Supplier Manager – What are we looking for?
Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel inside the UK when needed
BTEC/HNC/D or similar degree in supply chain management/business studies or relevant engineering or supply chain qualifications or experience.
A strong proven track-record in leading procurement exercises (inviting/selecting tenders, managing contracts) and/or contract development work and/or developing suppliers
A track-record in making a significant contribution towards developing and improving the procurement function.
Extensive experience in buying/sourcing with a good understanding of UK Export Controls and an awareness of US Export/Re Export Control Legislation
Experience of negotiation contracts and agreements with suppliers.
