Motherwell Office
A9 Dualling project - £150 million
Our client are seeking to recruit a Senior Planner based in it's Motherwell Office but visiting projects on average 3 days per week. The Senior Planner be supported by junior planners but have overall responsibility for planning and scheduling the works on live projects ranging in value from C.£5m to £200m. Your initial project will be our A9 Dualling Project just north of Perth. The value of this project is £150m and is currently planned to be completed in Winter 2028. Progression toward Planning Manager is anticipated for the right candidate during the currency of the Project. There are 6No remaining projects on the A9 Dualling Scheme which our client are committed to delivering along with future Framework Partners for Transport Scotland; a £1.9Bn programme of works extending to 2035.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Educated to Degree level with relevant construction or engineering discipline.
* Digitally literate with experience using planning software - P6 and/or MS Project.

The Role (requires):
As a Senior Planner you will have specific responsibility for:
* Development of Construction Programmes including periodic updates required by the Contract including the corresponding narratives that track and explain change between programmes.
* Following our client's planning and programming internal procedures. Input into the regular of review procedures and advance improvements for consideration.
* Develop and maintain risk and float trackers on a weekly basis.
* Ensure that short term programmes are produced and that they generally align with the Contract Programme.
* Review and input into budgets and resource allocations to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.
* Liaise with the respective Client Representatives when agreeing contract programmes, periodic updates and change impacts along with providing suggestions for mitigation and performance improvements.
* Occasionally you may be required to input into bid programmes, evaluations, and contract negotiations.
* Conducting routine site inspections to satisfy yourself that project progress, risks, etc are all being captured in the contract programme(s).
* Work closely with the Commercial Department to ensure risks are managed, added value and entitlement are realised.
* Provide guidance and support to the litigation team (inc Delay Experts) in dispute resolution procedures.
* Conduct forensic schedule analysis to identify and quantify delays in the project timeline.
