The company has opportunities for a Quality Control & Facilities Officer in Barwell.
Job Purpose
The Quality Control & Facilities Officer is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the company's high-quality standards and customer specifications. Working closely with production, compliance, and customer service teams, you will monitor, inspect, and report on quality issues, manage customer quality complaints, and support continuous improvement across operations. To ensure that the site is supported through regular scheduled auditing, facilitation of operational support.
Key Responsibilities
* Product Inspection: Conduct regular checks on printed labels and finished goods throughout the production process, ensuring they meet company and customer specifications.
* Documentation: Accurately complete quality control records, including non-conformance reports, checklists, inspection logs, and quality complaint logs. Supply copies of paperwork to various departments as required.
* Process Monitoring: Ensure adherence to internal SOPs, GMP standards, and customer requirements during production runs.
* Non‑Conformance & Complaints Management:
* Identify and report defects or non‑compliance issues.
* Log and investigate quality complaints raised by customers.
* Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions with relevant departments.
* Communicate resolutions clearly and promptly to internal teams and assist in closing the complaint loop with the customer.
* Positive release jobs before despatching of goods to customers.
* Calibration & Equipment Checks: Ensure measuring and testing equipment is correctly maintained and calibrated.
* Internal audits: Conduct scheduled audits and safety checks as site requires against accreditations but limited to dermatitis, glass and brittle plastic, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire alarms etc.
* Customer Support: Liaise with customer service teams and assist in resolving any quality‑related complaints or queries.
* Training & Support: Assist in training staff on quality standards, complaint handling procedures, and best practices. Conduct H&S and BRCGS induction training to new starters. Conduct refresher training for existing personnel. Ensuring training records are created and maintained for new starters and refresher training.
* Continuous Improvement: Provide input on improving quality systems, reducing waste, preventing recurrence of complaints, and enhancing product reliability.
* Operational Support: Responsible for ordering repeat tooling from various suppliers, stationery orders, ordering and refiling hairnets, beard snoods and ear plugs, consumables, lockers, spill skits, etc.
* PPE and lockers: As part of new starters induction, issue all uniform, PPE, any company supplied equipment and lockers. Ensure that records of issue are maintained and added to for existing staff.

* Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, BRC, etc.) desirable but not essential
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, ideally within print, packaging, or labelling industries – desirable not essential
* Experience handling and investigating quality complaints is essential
* Understanding of print processes and label production is highly desirable
* Familiarity with inspection tools, sampling techniques, complaint investigation, and quality documentation
* Training in internal auditing or quality systems (desirable but not essential)
