About the Role
You will provide financial and business support primarily to the complex and fast-growing Academic & Government Solutions organization, whose products are sold across Elsevier.
In this global role, you will work closely with the product and sales organizations, as well as partner with other business support teams.
Through strong analytical skills, you will provide geographical insights, challenge and advise stakeholders on opportunities, and flag risks and potential actions early.
Your contribution will help the business drive long-term, sustainable, and profitable growth.
This is a key role within the Finance Business Decision Support Team, aimed at improving effectiveness and support for Elsevier, a division of RELX plc.
Responsibilities
1. Providing financial insight into the A&G Solutions business covering all financial and business metrics, covering full P&L as well as capital spend and customer facing insights such as NPS and CSAT;
2. Work at an Elsevier level to identify and understand (geographical) sales/revenue trends and understand where opportunities lie or where changes can be made;
3. Monthly management reporting of sales and revenue and signal variations, risks and opportunities early;
4. Budgeting annual and mid-term forecasting of annual sales and revenue of $400m+ and cost;
5. Work closely with Product and GTM teams to build and assess investment cases which drive growth and monetizable innovation across the portfolio;
6. Support M&A and integrate acquisitions as required;
7. Supporting the Finance Manager in strategic business decisions, setting the finance agenda and "leading the way" to improve the effectiveness of the finance support team;
8. Work with the sales, revenue and cost Centers of Expertise to standardize and streamline insightful management reports.
Requirements
9. Enjoy using a data-driven approach to uncover insights and opportunities;
10. Have a CPA_CA or a Master's in Finance;
11. Demonstrate a robust knowledge and application of financial systems, processes and metrics;
12. Excellent communication skills, proactive and driven;
13. Experience in leading projects and strong business partnering skills;
14. Have advanced level Excel and knowledge of PowerPoint, Hyperion, PeopleSoft, Tableau, Salesforce or similar systems;
15. Show excellent knowledge of financial and management accounting;
16. Have experience of achieving results in an international environment, with appreciation of differences in culture and legal frameworks;
17. Have great relevant experience in financial reporting, analysis and forecasting.
