Role Description/Criteria Description: Holy Eucharist Primary School, St Albans South, is seeking a suitable and passionate teacher to teach Italian from Prep to Year 6 as part of the school’s LOTE program.An Italian background is not required for this position. The school utilises the Teachers as Co-Learners resource, allowing educators to engage in language learning alongside their students.This is a fixed-term position (FTE 0.6), commencing in Term 3, 2025, with the possibility of ongoing employment.At Holy Eucharist Catholic Primary School, we strive to ensure that students at our school reach their full potential. We aim to empower children to take responsibility for their own learning whilst providing them with strategies and skills to prepare them for an ever-changing world.In teaching Italian, the successful applicant will need to be familiar with the Victorian Curriculum in order to plan for diverse learners at our school. The applicant will need to able to engage students in the program by immersing them in a wide range of experiences that reflect the context of our local community. They will also need to be able to incorporate students’ interests and enquiries. Selection Criteria:
* Be faith-filled with a strong commitment to the Catholic Ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of all students
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to continue to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents
* Supportive behaviour management practices
* Strong understanding and working knowledge of contemporary learning and how to positively impact student learning.
Special Requirements:
* Full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
* Qualified to teach Italian
* Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School is desirable
* Committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
