Job Description:
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will join the Thanet Community Mental Health Team, which has a dedicated Duty team, assessment, and CAPA assessment team. The team receives robust medical support to ensure medical leadership.
This is a great opportunity to develop the team's functioning. The service covers the eastern area of the town, an area facing social deprivation with significant drug and alcohol-related issues. You will not be responsible for inpatients.
You will collaborate with other specialties such as the Mother and Infant Mental Health team and Neuropsychiatry.
Candidates should ideally have MRCPsych or equivalent, be on the Specialist Register, fully GMC registered, with Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve within 3 months).
Main duties of the job
* Assess and treat mental health conditions under secondary mental health services.
* Manage, appraise, and supervise junior medical staff.
* Participate in service and business planning for the locality and the broader mental health services.
* Work with local managers and professionals to ensure efficient service delivery.
* Handle administrative duties related to patient care.
* Attend and contribute to the Trust's academic programs, including lectures and seminars.
