Overview
Mechanical Piping Engineer - Nuclear role at AtkinsRéalis.
Responsibilities
* Lead projects to deliver piping solutions for the construction of new nuclear stations and systems at fusion research facilities.
* Support the operation of the existing nuclear generating fleet and decommissioning of nuclear sites.
* Engage with existing and prospective clients, work at their sites, and invest time in understanding their issues, goals, and processes.
What You Can Bring
* Degree qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification).
* Experience in piping and/or pressure vessel design and stress analysis.
* Experience in writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports (e.g. design substantiations, basis of analysis, safety case references).
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Technical practitioner able to demonstrate good engineering judgement and with good experience in using fundamental engineering skills.
Desirable Experience
* Experience in safety-critical and heavily regulated environments such as nuclear power generation or decommissioning.
* Working towards chartership with a relevant professional institute.
* Experience with design codes such as ASME BPVC Section III, RCC-M, BS EN 13480, BS EN 13445.
* Awareness of UK legislation relating to piping.
