Main Purpose of Job
This full-time position aims to protect public health by enforcing laws and regulations related to individual wells, on-site wastewater disposal systems, land subdivision, nuisance control, and air quality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland Board of Environmental Health Specialists according to licensing requirements for Environmental Health Specialists. Experience: None required.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Possession of a certificate of eligibility for licensing as an Environmental Health Specialist from the Maryland Board of Environmental Health Specialists at the time of hire.
2. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license in Maryland if job duties involve operating a vehicle.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants meeting the minimum (and selective) qualifications will undergo further evaluation, which may include a rating of education, training, and experience. Accurate and complete application information is essential. Education obtained outside the U.S. requires an evaluation for equivalency.
