We’re partnering with a global technology consulting organisation delivering a long-term cloud transformation programme for a major UK insurance client.
Following a successful migration from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, the programme is now entering its next phase – focusing on optimisation, scalability, and modern cloud engineering practices.
As a result, we’re looking for a Lead Azure Cloud Architect to take ownership of the client’s cloud architecture strategy and help shape the future of their Azure environment.
The Role
This is a strategic and hands-on position where you will be responsible for governing and evolving the Azure cloud architecture across a large-scale enterprise environment.
You’ll work closely with engineering teams, DevOps specialists, and senior stakeholders to ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and aligned with best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
* Owning the end-to-end Azure cloud architecture for a large enterprise environment
* Enhancing and evolving the cloud framework and governance model
* Driving best practices across DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation
* Ensuring the Azure platform is secure, resilient, and cost-optimised
* Acting as the technical authority for cloud architecture decisions
* Collaborating with development teams to ensure cloud-native design principles are followed
* Advising leadership on cloud strategy, roadmap, and platform improvements
Experience Required
* Strong experience designing enterprise-scale solutions in Microsoft Azure
* Proven background as a Cloud Architect or Lead Azure Architect
* Deep understanding of cloud governance, architecture frameworks, and best practices
* Experience improving or implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
* Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep)
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills within large enterprise programmes
* Experience working within regulated environments (insurance or financial services is advantageous)
