Shift Electrical Engineer – Cardiff (Static Site) \nLocation: Cardiff\n Hours: 4 on 4 off – Days & Nights (12-hour shifts)\n Contract: Permanent\n Start Date: ASAP\n \nSite Type: Static commercial site\n Our client is seeking an experienced Shift Electrical Engineer to join their on-site engineering team at a large, high-profile static facility in Cardiff.\n This role operates on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, covering both days and nights, and offers long-term career stability with training and progression opportunities.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPerform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) and statutory compliance tasks\nCarry out electrical fault finding, testing, and reactive repairs on systems including lighting, power, distribution boards, and control panels\nSupport maintenance and operation of electrical plant including switchgear, UPS, and emergency lighting systems\nEnsure compliance with health & safety, permit-to-work systems, and risk assessments\nRecord keeping of works carried out and completion of relevant documentation\nProvide support to other trades and assist with general building services tasks as neededRequirements:\n\nRecognised electrical qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 2365, 2330, or NVQ Level 3)\n18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)\nPrevious experience in a critical or commercial building environment (e.g. data centres, hospitals, offices)\nStrong understanding of electrical systems, fault finding, and planned maintenance\nAbility to work independently on shift and make sound engineering decisions\nGood communication and reporting skillsWhat’s on Offer:\n\n4-on, 4-off shift pattern (days and nights) – 12-hour shifts\nStatic site in central Cardiff – no travel required\nOvertime available\nPermanent position with a leading facilities services provider\nExcellent on-site facilities and a supportive engineering teamApply now to be considered or contact us for further information
