Overview
Cheltenham Town FC Academy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Academy Casual Coach to join our coaching team. This role supports the planning and delivery of the Academy’s training and games programme, helping to develop talented young players in line with the club’s coaching philosophy. Reporting to the Academy Head of Coaching, the successful candidate will contribute to all aspects of coaching delivery with a passion for working with young people and a collaborative approach to player development. This position is suitable for someone with experience in elite football environments or a coach looking to develop within an Academy setting.
Key Requirements
* Essential: UEFA B Licence (or currently enrolled)
* Desirable: FA Youth Award (or willingness to obtain)
* Desirable: EFAiF – Emergency First Aid in Football, Level 2 (or willingness to obtain)
* Type: Casual / Sessional
* Hours: Flexible – typically one evening per week plus weekend fixtures
* Pay: In line with the National Living Wage

Academy Coach Job Description
Responsible to: Head of coaching, phase lead coach & cell lead coach
Build Relationships with:
Internal: Academy Manager, Lead Phase Coaches, Player Care Manager, Safeguarding Officer, Coaches, Heads of Department, Players and Parents
External: Opposition staff, FA, FAYCD, and PFA.

Travel: Regular travel to fixtures
Overall purpose of the job: Support the coaching department with football and holistic development of the players within the age group.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Personal Development
* Undertake self-development to ensure knowledge in relation to all aspect of your role is up-to-date and forward thinking
* Complete FA CPD as required to keep your FAN/Licence up to date
* Complete club CPD and qualifications as part of your ongoing development action plan
Coaching Curriculum, Playing and Coaching Philosophy
* Ensure the academy’s coaching curriculum is consistently delivered in line with the academy’s playing philosophy and coaching philosophy
* Design and implement age-appropriate sessions that provide maximal opportunity for players to practice, develop and learn
Games Programme
Individual Learning Plan Design and Delivery
* Design practices that give players the opportunity to practice their ILPs
Feedback
* Provide regular updates to the cell lead / phase lead to support the MDT review process
Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post and to assist the Academy Manager
About The Candidate
Qualifications
* UEFA B Coaching Licence (or working towards)
* Safeguarding and Protecting Children
* EFAiF - Emergency First Aid in Football (or working towards / willing to complete)
Required Experience
Experience of working in at least 1 of the following roles:
* A football coaching role
* A mentoring/coaching role
Knowledge and/or experience of at least 3 of the following:
* The process of learning in young people (pedagogy)
* Running and designing development programmes
* Football coaching
* Sports Psychology
ICT experience of PMA, Excel, Word and any other software as required to carry out the duties required for the job.
Personal Qualities

Other Requirements
* UK driving licence
* DBS clearance
