Design Manager | Main Contractor | East London | ASAP Start
A major main contractor is looking for an experienced Design Manager to support a high-profile data‑centre development in East London. This role will combine live project support with early‑stage input into additional packages, working closely with senior leadership on one of the most technically complex schemes in the capital. You’ll play a key role in bringing structure, clarity and technical oversight to a fast‑moving delivery environment ideal for someone confident coordinating multiple stakeholders and operating independently within a high‑performance team.
The Role
* Provide design management support across a large, multi‑phase data‑centre development in East London
* Coordinate consultants, specialist subcontractors and internal teams to maintain programme, quality and compliance
* Review drawings/specifications for buildability, coordination issues and technical risks
* Lead design meetings, manage RFIs, approvals and document control processes
* Support commercial and procurement teams to align design intent with technical deliverables and package strategy

* 5+ years' experience as a Design Manager with a main contractor
* Strong background coordinating complex technical or services‑heavy projects
* Confident managing consultants and supporting multiple packages simultaneously
* Clear communicator with strong organisation and coordination skills
* Able to bring structure, control and consistency to design workflows and reporting
