Advanced Technician – NCC – Innovating for Industry

Are you an AFP operator passionate about tackling complex engineering challenges and advancing technical innovation? As an Advanced Technician, you’ll solve practical engineering tasks, from maintenance and process improvement to mentoring future talent. You’ll work across simple and intricate technical contexts, contributing to cutting‑edge developments in your field.


What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders to advise on technical principles, enhance maintenance protocols, and refine engineering practices. Safety is a key focus; you’ll lead by example, promote best practices, conduct risk assessments, and maintain workshop standards.


So, what are we looking for?

* Technical expertise: Proven ability to analyse and improve engineering processes in complex and non‑complex contexts.
* Problem‑solving skills: Strong diagnostic skills to identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues effectively.
* Safety leadership: Experience promoting and implementing safe working practices, conducting risk assessments, and supporting junior technicians and apprentices.
* Innovation mindset: Ability to contribute to developing new technologies, methods, or processes.
* Communication skills: Proficient in documenting technical outcomes and conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences, including contractors and inter‑departmental communication.
* Computer literacy: Proficient with Microsoft Office software and workplace experience.
* Flexibility: Able to work on and off shifts and adjust hours to suit project needs.
* AFP operator experience: Required.
