Overview
A fantastic opportunity to join an exciting team within NHS Highlands. The Care Response Teams (CRT) deliver urgent and short term care and support to different services across the North Highlands. As a Social Care Assistant you will provide personal care and support to service users in Residential care settings such as Care Homes and Care at Home Services, across the North Highlands.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality care, assistance and support to maintain and promote independence for people in their own homes or care facilities.
* Work as part of a team including fellow Social Care Assistants, Social Care Workers, Team Leads and a Team Manager, with collaboration across NHS professionals and Social Work services.
* Cover a large geographical area which may require overnight stays; use of a personal car with a full driving licence is essential.
* Operate to a 4-on 4-off rolling rota, including weekends and 11.5 hour shift patterns including night shifts.
* Demonstrate flexibility and a positive attitude in role requirements.
* Assist service users with personal care and support needs in line with individual care plans.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience dealing with vulnerable adults, especially older people, preferably in a caring capacity.
* Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
* Willing to complete SVQ Level 2 within an agreed timeframe to comply with Scottish Social Services Council registration requirements.
* Driving licence is essential and applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.
* Eligible to work within NHS Highland and able to work across a large geographical area.
