The Role
As an Accounts Assistant / Semi-Senior Accountant, you will play an important role within a collaborative team, providing high-quality accounting services to a varied client base.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements
* Producing management accounts
* Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns
* Supporting tax compliance and assisting with HMRC queries
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships
* Working on ad hoc accounting and finance projects
* Supporting senior team members with client portfolio work
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Previous experience working within an accountancy practice (essential)
* AAT qualified or equivalent
* ACCA part-qualified or looking to study ACCA (study support provided)
* Experience using Xero accounting software (preferred)
* Strong Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis
* Good working knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and tax compliance
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
* Strong communication skills with a proactive and positive attitude
