Job Description
The Temporary Senior Legal Counsel will provide high-quality legal and commercial support to the business. The role requires an experienced and commercially minded lawyer capable of independently managing a demanding workload in a fast-paced international environment.
The successful candidate will support commercial, operational, and leadership teams by drafting, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of contracts and legal matters while ensuring practical risk management aligned with business objectives. The role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving capabilities who can work autonomously and efficiently under pressure.
Job Requirements
1. Education:
Solicitor, Barrister, or equivalent internationally recognised legal qualification.
2. Experience:
• Minimum 8 years’ post-qualification experience preferred.
• Strong experience within the oil and gas, energy services, engineering services, or industrial services sectors.
• Proven experience handling complex commercial contracts in an international business environment.
• Experience providing company secretarial and corporate governance support across international entities and jurisdictions.
3. Skills:
• Strong commercial judgement and pragmatic approach to legal risk management.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Understanding of corporate governance, entity management, and company secretarial processes.
Job Responsibilities
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders across operations, sales, procurement, finance, and senior management.
• Support contract negotiations, tenders, bids, and project delivery activities across multiple jurisdictions and customers.
• Identify legal and commercial risks and develop pragmatic mitigation strategies that support operational and commercial objectives.
• Provide company secretarial support across international group entities, including coordinating board approvals, corporate governance matters, statutory filings, and maintaining corporate records where required.
• Support international corporate governance and entity management activities across multiple jurisdictions, liaising with external advisors and local counsel as necessary.
• Manage a high-volume and fast-moving workload independently, prioritising matters effectively and driving issues through to completion with minimal supervision.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, sanctions, anti-bribery requirements, and internal governance procedures.
• Maintain strong working relationships with external counsel, customers, suppliers, and internal business functions.
