Security Officer – Associated Petroleum Terminals
Location: Immingham | Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour | Hours: 42 per week | Shifts: 4 on, 4 off (12‑hour shifts, nights only (1800-0600))
Job Overview
Protect the customer’s property, people, and assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site’s Assignment Instructions and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet or exceed the key performance indicators and Service Level Agreement for the customer, with full responsibility and accountability, supporting contract retention. Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.
Operations
* Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
* Proactively review the Assignment Instructions, staying familiar with any changes to suggest additional amendments that enhance service level.
* Maintain the required front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and CCTV PSS SIA licence, wearing them at all times while on duty. Complete any additional contractually required courses.
* Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
* Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Work in a systematic, methodical and orderly way.
Training
* Complete all required competency training satisfactorily.
* Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
* Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Look out for and immediately report any health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment, taking appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative by involving others immediately if the situation becomes threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
* Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries promptly after any incident, for use in the incident report process.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are made at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
What We Are Looking For
* Previous security experience.
* SIA licence.
* SC clearance desirable.
* Clean driving licence (required for mobile patrols in the response vehicle).
* Willingness to work days when required.
