Job Title: Site Security Safety Health Environment Leader
Location: Burton
Job Purpose
The site SSHE leader has overall responsibility for managing Personal and Process Safety, Construction Safety, Security, Health & Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence at all levels within the site. They oversee safety for all Unilever employees, contractors and third‑party suppliers across the sites, drive SSHE technology and tools, and ensure legal compliance in the geography.
Responsibilities
* Set an SSHE Implementation Plan to deliver against European and Global SSHE Strategies
o Set goals and plans to meet cluster and SSHE commitments.
o Manage the site SSHE team responsible for delivering results.
o Maintain a strong network across the geography to manage risk of upcoming changes and build plans into existing priorities, particularly in new capital projects, new business acquisitions and divestitures.
* Govern SSHE culture
o Lead the culture change process across the site.
o Design and operate governance to track performance against all SSHE targets.
o Lead the auditing program ensuring simplification and full compliance.
o Ensure global governance tools (PAR, SPR, Safety Pillar, SHENet, MOC, SIRA, Power BI, etc.) represent the geography accurately.
o Oversee legal compliance and maintain local governance tools as necessary.
o Ensure security minimum mandatory requirements are in place and lead the Security Site compliance.
* Maintain documented standards, policies and practices to achieve SSHE compliance
o Support global reporting with data and verbiage for internal and external reports for SSHE technologies.
o Develop local reporting and conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses and safe behaviour observations.
o Translate global standards into local language and ensure compliance.
* Capability building
o Oversee professional SSHE skills development within the team.
o Maintain local expertise in specific SSHE technologies (machinery safety, MMHE, safe driving, office safety, safe travel, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, emergency planning, security, process safety, water, air and waste compliance).
* Incident management and emergency planning
o Advise line management on safety, security and environmental accident/incident investigations.
o Assist Leadership Team in leading internal Incident Management committees and Central SHE committee.
o Support serious incident investigations and analysis.
o Lead critical root cause investigations for complex incidents.
* Operate within the boundaries of SSHE business expectations in cost, capital and headcount.
Essential Qualifications
* Experience in Supply Chain operations.
* Proven analytical thinking and project management track record.
* University degree in Science or Engineering; experience in engineering, modeling, data analysis, manufacturing chemistries, environmental operations and their impact on risk.
* Knowledge of human behaviour and work processes associated with unplanned event management.
* Excellent knowledge of SSHE standards and working knowledge of SSHE IT tools.
* Influencing skills and international business/cultural sensitivity.
* Good observation and auditing skills.
* Ability to influence strategic deliverables in a wide organization.
* Ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
* Proven experience in extended Supply Chain operations.
* Proven experience in an SSHE role.
