Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist - Substance Misuse based at Caley Court, Stevenston. This is a 12 month fixed-term position.
What you will do:
An enthusiastic and experienced Pharmacist Independent Prescriber is sought to work within the challenging field of Substance Use within NHS Ayrshire and Arran Specialist Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services.
The holder of this 12 month fixed-term role will lead in the provision of specialist clinical pharmacy (non-medical) prescribing and review for substance misuse patients within the Specialist Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services in partnership with a multi-disciplinary professional group. The post holder will be directly responsible for the provision of clinical care for a nominated case load of individuals as well as assessing, reviewing and initiating treatment for new patients.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
The post holder will develop advanced theoretical and practical knowledge within this complex specialist field and provide expert advice and analysis in pharmaceutical matters relating to substance misuse, addiction and mental health disorders relating to the care of individual patients.
The post holder will lead on, monitor, audit, plan and develop service provision by self and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure practice is relevant, appropriate, evidence-based, safe, cost-effective and in keeping with local and national policies, guidelines and strategies. The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to the wider development and improvement of pharmaceutical services to patients with Addiction/Substance Misuse/Dual-diagnosis mental health disorders. The post holder will be accountable for the safe and cost-effective use of medicines within the designated clinical area.

Hours:
37 hours per week.
This post involves flexible working across the geography of NHS Ayrshire and Arran, but is principally based within North Ayrshire.
