This position is onsite Monday - Friday, 3pm-11pm.
General Duties:
* Perform routine operations to load, coat, blend, screen and pack molding compounds.
* Locate and move containers of input materials to blender according to lot, batch, and selected container numbers.
* Change/stage WIP containers when necessary.
* Performs operator in-process testing and control as it applies to the process and product to meet specifications.
* Assist in the changing of knives.
* Make, record, log, and chart appropriate product and process control records.
* Provide relief as necessary to maintain continuous operation of process line.
* Assemble packaging and pack finished material. Seal and identify container, and move to storage area.
* Maintain proper supplies inventories through communication with Warehouse.
* As required, clean inside of blender of accumulated material. Disassemble and clean all elements of process equipment as required, or on change-over of material. Maintain work in clean and orderly condition.
* Detect unusual conditions, defective materials, operating difficulties, or process upsets, and report to supervisor.
* Requires the use of fork lift trucks and other material handling equipment.
* Observe prescribed or necessary safety precautions and work according to good manufacturing and housekeeping practices.
* Train other operators as assigned.
* Implement and maintain the SS systems in the Plant. This includes sorting, straightening, and cleaning activities including but not limited to vacuuming, equipment cleaning and inspection and painting.
* Perform other related job duties as required or necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Requires the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specification and schedules, requiring some interpretation.
* Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limits of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
* Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Experience/Education:
* High School Education or Equivalent required.
* 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment .
