Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Research Associate to join the CAP Research group within the School of Clinical Dentistry, Faculty of Health and School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, University of Sheffield. This role sits at the intersection of academic cancer research and commercialisation, contributing to cutting‑edge anti‑cancer therapy for head and neck cancers.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Conduct commercialisation research aligned with the overall project’s objectives.
* Produce a proof‑of‑market analytical report.
* Administrate commercialisation aspects of the project and manage/organise patient‑public/stakeholder involvement and engagement meetings.
* Work both independently and collaboratively as part of the CAP research group, engaging with co‑investigators to meet commercialisation milestones and contribute to overall planning and delivery of commercialisation aspects of the project.
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of all commercialisation activity.
* Adhere to Health & Safety policies, where relevant.
* Liaise regularly with the principal investigator and project supervisors, contributing to team meetings and strategic discussions.
* Prepare and deliver presentations for internal meetings, collaborators, and external audiences.
* Carry out other duties as required, commensurate with the scope and grade of the post.

Essential Criteria

PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject area such as cancer biology.

Undergraduate degree in a relevant biological, biomedical discipline.

Experience in Cold Atmospheric Plasma technology.

Proven ability to conduct independent research and evidence of outputs (e.g., written reports).

Demonstrated experience in commercialisation/proof‑of‑marketing.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong teamworking and time‑management skills.


Additional Information

Grade: 7.10

Salary: £47,389 pro rata

Work arrangement: Part‑time

Duration: December 2025 – April 2026

Line manager: Principal Investigator
