Have you ever thought about a change in career and work somewhere new? Due to the expansion of the chemotherapy service and internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 5 Staff Nurses to join the Chemotherapy team at Dorset County Hospital.
Currently Chemotherapy is delivered on site and we have extended this service into the community setting. You would be part of a dynamic, friendly team with plenty of opportunities to develop skills and education in this rewarding oncology setting.
Main duties of the job
The candidate ideally must be Chemotherapy trained with a genuine interest in caring for patients with cancer. You should have a sound knowledge base of oncology and/or haemato-oncology and this will ideally be underpinned by an appropriate academic qualification. However, candidates who demonstrate a true interest in the specialty are encouraged to apply and full training will be given.
You must possess excellent communication skills and will ideally be competent at venepuncture and cannulation although this is not essential. Qualifications and experience in administering chemotherapy would be advantageous to the applicant but training can be given to meet this need.
