Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Trailer fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for maintaining and repairing trucks and trailers and related equipment. Experience with tail lifts and hydraulic systems would be a advantage. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our customers fleet, contributing to overall operational success.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and repair of trucks and trailers and associated equipment.
* Conduct thorough inspections to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
* Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
* Ability to use diagnostic equipment for fault finding and repairing.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working in the workshop or on-site.
* Agreeable to be included on a weekly on-call rota system.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic/trailer fitter/plant fitter or similar role.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair.
* Proficiency in using power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools.
* Ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* A valid driving licence is preferred, along with the ability to operate various types of vehicles.
* C+E licence would be an advantage but not essential.
