Education Welfare Officer
Hours: 37 hours per week (2 posts: 1 full‑time permanent, 1 22.5 hours all year round). Salary: £30,024 – £33,699 (Grade 5). Work style: Flexible (one day office based, with home and field based working).
The City of Wolverhampton’s Attendance Service works alongside schools and families to encourage education engagement, ensuring positive outcomes for all young people. As an Education Welfare Officer, you will support the Attendance Team, delivering attendance services to schools and ensuring duties around attendance are carried out effectively. You will work collaboratively with families, schools and partner agencies to ensure all young people receive suitable education.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Self‑motivated and able to work on own initiative as part of a fast‑moving team within statutory frameworks.
* Experience and knowledge of legal processes and relevant legislation relating to school attendance, children missing education and children not in full‑time education.
* Demonstrated understanding and application of guidance regarding school attendance, children missing education and children not in full‑time education.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Demonstrable ability to provide support and challenge where needed.
* DBS check required.
