Solicitor – Industrial Disease / Personal Injury
We are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our specialist Disease Team in Glasgow, supporting clients affected by industrial conditions such as vibration-related injuries, noise-induced hearing loss, skin disease, and lung disease.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly specialised field, delivering expert legal advice and making a tangible difference in clients’ lives, while working alongside a supportive and experienced team.
What the Role Involves
* Case Management: Handle a mix of pre-litigation and litigation industrial disease claims.
* Court Work: Gain experience with cases in specialist courts, including ASPIC and the Court of Session.
* Client Interaction: Provide expert legal advice and maintain clear, compassionate communication with clients.
* Medical Expert Coordination: Liaise with and instruct medical experts.
* Legal Documentation: Draft writs, statements, and other legal documents.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and contribute to mentoring junior team members.
* Court Representation: Consult with Counsel and represent clients in court as appropriate.
Who We’re Looking For
* PQE Requirement: Minimum of 1-year PQE, ideally 1–3 years.
* Experience: Previous experience in industrial disease claims is advantageous, but strong personal injury experience will also be considered.
* Legal Expertise: Solid understanding of personal injury law.
* Professional Skills: Excellent organisation, case management, and communication skills.
* Team Player: Collaborative and supportive, thriving in a dynamic team environment.
* Location: Must be able to commute to the Glasgow office.
