Contract Manager — Keighley, West Yorkshire
An opportunity for a Contract Manager in the Fabrication Department of Galliford Try. The role involves managing fabrication projects across the UK within the water sector, with responsibilities across health, safety and environmental performance, programme delivery, financial performance and overall project outcomes.
What you will be doing
* Manage fabrication projects across the UK within the water sector, ensuring health, safety and environmental performance, programme adherence, and financial performance.
* Actively manage and seek improvements throughout the project life cycle, including tendering, design, supply chain, manufacturing, installation and handover.
* Lead and develop project teams, communicating with in-house teams, sub-contractors, clients and suppliers to ensure successful delivery.
* Promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture; display flexibility, resilience and ethical standards.
* Ensure clear objectives, roles and responsibilities for all project team members; optimise direct labour resources across projects where possible.
* Support senior operations leadership with financial performance of the project portfolio and assume responsibility for profit/loss on contracts under the framework.
* Produce project performance reports and participate in monthly financial and programme reviews with the Installation/Operations teams.
* Ensure compliance with company commercial and financial procedures and complete contract documentation.
* Establish and agree price variations and final accounts; prepare estimates and quotations and provide tender vetting for others.
* Coordinate with tendering and design to ensure resources are allocated to meet client requirements; attend site visits and meetings as required.
Experience and Qualifications
* Industry-applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent.
* H&S qualifications (desirable).
* IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS).
* CSCS card.
* Experience working with NEC contracts.
* Experience in the water and/or sewage industries.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
* Strong team player with ability to work independently; good time management and ability to prioritise multiple projects.
