Role Purpose To lead, evolve and scale procurement operations at BuyingStation as it transitions into a technology-led procurement business underpinned by consultancy. As Procurement Operations Director, you will drive commercial value, mitigate risk and deliver sustainable outcomes for a portfolio of customers. This strategic role involves shaping and executing procurement strategy, overseeing end-to-end operations and managing key customer relationships. Responsible for ensuring for both the efficient, cost effective and high quality delivery of customer facing operations. With direct line management responsibilities and close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), you will ensure operational excellence, foster high-performance culture and champion digital transformation through the effective use of BuyingStation’s platform and tools. You will also play a key role in aligning procurement delivery with the company’s broader vision of innovation, scalability and customer impact through SaaS technology. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables Leadership and Team Management · Lead the operations team to promote and encourage excellent customer service and collaborative working · Manage, coach and develop the wider consultancy team to ensure consistent, high-quality customer delivery and alignment with service expectations following BuyingStation’s Sourcing2Supervision process · Responsible for hiring, training and motivating the operations team, providing guidance and support as needed. Customer Relations · Lead and define the execution of customer-focused procurement strategies · Trusted advisor to customers, influencing strategy and ensuring service excellence · Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships on behalf of customers Operational Effectiveness · Champion the effective use of BuyingStation’s procurement platform in customer delivery, driving efficiency and digital adoption · Collaborate with the technology team by feeding in platform requirements, enhancement requests and delivery feedback to inform the product roadmap · Continuously review and enhance both the Sourcing2Supervision and SMARTproject process, identifying opportunities for improvement aligned with best-in-class procurement practices and Novo-K’s SMARTprocurement methodology Essential Skills and Competencies · FCIPS-qualified (or equivalent), demonstrating a deep understanding of strategic procurement principles and leadership capability · Exceptional communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience managing high-performing teams and complex delivery environments · Proven experience in a consultancy or high-growth, fast-paced business environment, with a strong track record of delivering customer-focused procurement solutions at scale · Deep sourcing and negotiation expertise including complex specifications involving innovation, sustainability and diversity. E.g. SME support and lifecycle value · Strong financial acumen including cost modelling, whole-life costing, supplier financial risk assessment and spend forecasting Key Requirements including Experience and Qualifications · 10 years of experience in procurement with 5 years in a consultancy environment or directly with customers · Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and complex procurement programmes · Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver value through procurement · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced Customer-facing environment
