We are seeking an enthusiastic Public Health Advanced Practitioner to join the Public Health team in County Durham. This is a full-time temporary post for up to 12 months, with the period potentially shortened if the substantive postholder returns sooner.
The postholder will be allocated a defined initial portfolio area on appointment; topic areas of focus may change over time based on business need and individual professional development.
If you would like an informal discussion about this post, please contact Suzanne Richardson – Public Health Advanced Practitioner, Tel: 03000 262796 or email suzanne.richardson@durham.gov.uk.
The post holder will also be required to provide cover across the other areas of work covered within the relevant Strategic Manager’s portfolio during holidays or other periods of absence.
The successful candidate may be expected to provide cover across other Public Health Advanced Practitioner work areas, ensuring continuity of service and support across the wider team. This may include taking on responsibilities outside their core portfolio, working collaboratively with colleagues, and contributing to shared priorities as needed.
It is anticipated that interviews will be held Thursday 25th June 2026.
