Roads Supervisor (15/415) We are looking to recruit one Supervisor for the Roads Network Management Team West. The post is a permanent contract for 36 hours per week. In addition, you will proactively support the development and continuation of a multi-skilled workforce, and monitor/supervise work tasks related to the maintenance and construction of roads and associated infrastructure. The role may involve operating a full range of road maintenance plant and machinery, including Rollers; Mini excavators; Breaker units and other small plant and equipment Minimum qualification in NRSWA (operative and or supervisor) Proven track record and/or sound knowledge of road maintenance activities Ability to work without supervision and ensure safe working practices in line with legislation and departmental procedures Competent in the use of computers with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Current full driving licence Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines Strong organisational skills and confidence in dealing with staff, the public, and contractors Understanding and knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation, Quality Management Systems, and Local Government procedures Development Opportunities: With an exciting benefits package, working for Dumfries and Galloway Council supports you to invest in your own health and wellbeing.
