Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: Hartpury University, Gloucester, GL19 3BE
Working hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, working 5 days over 7, shift pattern to be confirmed
Hourly Rate/Salary: £35,000
Aramark UK is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Sous Chef to oversee all aspects of in-house food service. You will work as part of a dynamic team, serving customers and delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities include basic food preparation and general cleaning tasks both back and front-of-house. A valid driver's license and regular access to a car are required.

Key responsibilities:
1. Managing shifts and guiding your team in the absence of the Head Chef, preparing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, requiring organization and ability to work under pressure.
2. Organizing and supporting your team to ensure smooth daily operations, allocating tasks efficiently.
3. Preparing food according to recipe sheets and maintaining full knowledge of all menu items, including allergen information.
4. Managing food production levels to minimize wastage, placing orders, recording wastage, receiving deliveries, and ensuring proper storage following FIFO principles.
5. Performing deep cleans daily and weekly with your team, ensuring all staff are trained and compliant with hygiene standards.
Requirements:
* Residency in the UK for the past 3 years and legal right to work in the UK.
* Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks.
* Relevant culinary qualification or at least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP.
* A trade test will be conducted during the interview process.
