Responsibilities
* Capture demographic and insurance information by telephone or patient-facing interactions.
* Use the eligibility application to verify insurance eligibility, interpret responses, and capture applicable health insurance information for the service rendered.
* Collect financial responsibility from the patient based on eligibility responses or estimates for services.
* Create encounters in ADT representing the service the patient is receiving.
* Determine demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate registration.
* Interpret information from Insurance Payers regarding patient eligibility and financial responsibility.
* Discuss the patient’s financial obligation and collect via cash, credit card, or check.
* Explain regulatory forms, answer questions from the patient, and obtain signatures as needed.
* Scan or manage online form templates to maintain the Electronic Health Record.
* Comply with Federal, State, and Third-Party Payer regulations as they pertain to hospital registration.
* Work in multiple systems during a telephone call or patient-facing interaction to complete an accurate registration and support clinical workflow.
Qualifications
* Experience with collecting financial responsibility from patients based on eligibility or estimates.
* Familiarity with eligibility applications and interpreting responses.
* Ability to discuss financial obligation with patients and collect payments (cash, credit card, or check).
* Ability to explain regulatory forms and obtain signatures; familiarity with Electronic Health Records.
* Comfort working across multiple systems during interactions to complete accurate registrations.
