Overview
We are seeking a experienced Head Chef. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Duties
* Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring that food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
* To implement and supervise all aspects of kitchen control e.g. menus, hygiene, health and safety, staff, cleaning and waste control.
* Develop and design innovative menus that cater to diverse tastes while considering dietary restrictions in line with budget
* Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish served.
* To prepare special diets for residents as directed by the nursing staff.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to enhance their culinary skills and performance.
* To complete monthly audits for kitchen reporting any finding to home manager
* Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
* Implement food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations and standards.
* Collaborate with the catering team for special events and banquets, ensuring seamless service delivery.
* Foster a positive work environment through effective team management and communication.
* Conduct regular kitchen inspections to maintain cleanliness and organization.
* To consult with residents on a regular basis to ensure that their needs and choices are being met.
* To maintain the agreed stock levels of food.
* To implement four weekly rota.
* To co-operate with requests from the Home Manager and residents wherever possible.
* To attend resident/relative meetings whenever possible.
* To carry out staff supervision adhering to home policies.
* To complete all staff personal development reviews.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within the care industry.
* Familiarity with dietary department operations and menu planning for various dietary needs.
* Demonstrated ability in supervising staff, managing shifts, and leading a team effectively.
* Experience with inventory management practices and food handling procedures.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
