Electrical Maintenance Technician - Darlington, SC
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the manufacturing team at its Darlington plant. In this role you will provide corrective and preventive maintenance of electronic and electrical systems on high-volume manufacturing equipment such as plate-forming presses, automated packaging machinery, industrial printing presses and more.
The position is shift-based, requiring 12 hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Work is performed in a clean, climate-controlled indoor environment and may involve lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working overtime as needed.
Starting pay will be based on skill and experience; eligible employees receive a $2 per hour shift incentive.
Responsibilities
* Use technical knowledge and craft skills to execute both planned and unplanned maintenance work on manufacturing assets (printing presses, plate presses, conveyors, robots, automated case packing/stacking equipment, etc.) and other equipment or systems at the facility.
* Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and/or control problems in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment failures and issues.
* Partner with operating teams to resolve equipment issues on shift and improve equipment reliability and uptime.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED.
* 2 years of electrical technical degree experience OR 5 or more years of experience as an Industrial Electrician.
* Experience executing maintenance plans, procuring parts, and documenting work activities.
* Experience with single-phase and three-phase electrical repair and troubleshooting up to 480 volts.
* Experience reviewing, developing, and/or modifying work orders for all plant equipment and entering work orders into a facility maintenance system.
* Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, PLCs, AC and DC motor controllers, and drives.
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate or Technical degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, Electronic Technology, or related field, plus at least 2 years of electrical/electronic and/or instrument & control troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, and/or Control Logix/RS Logix.
* Experience with Allen Bradley PanelView and FactoryTalk.
* Experience with servo systems.
* Ability to read and understand electrical schematics to troubleshoot electrical and electronics issues.
