A leading UK telecommunications and managed services provider is looking to appoint an experienced Account Management Leader to oversee and develop their strategic field-based account management division.
This organisation has built an outstanding reputation across the market for customer service, technical capability and long-term client partnerships. Following a strong first half performance and continued investment across the commercial function, the business is now looking to strengthen leadership across its strategic accounts team.
This is a senior commercial leadership opportunity suited to someone with a strong background in telecoms, connectivity or managed services who has progressed through strategic account management into people leadership.
The Opportunity
The successful individual will take ownership of a high-performing field-based account management function responsible for annual customer revenue across 170 active accounts.
Lead a team of commercial professionals across Account Management, Key Accounts and Account Director level, with responsibility for driving:
• Revenue growth
• Customer retention
• Margin performance
• Strategic account development
• Team coaching and leadership
• Pipeline management and forecasting
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, coach and develop a team of field-based account management professionals
• Drive strategic growth across an existing customer portfolio
• Support account teams with customer strategy, opportunity planning and stakeholder management
• Improve customer retention and account penetration across strategic clients
• Build a high-performance, accountable commercial culture
• Manage revenue growth and margin targets across the division
• Ensure strong forecasting, pipeline management and commercial discipline
• Work collaboratively with wider commercial leadership on strategic growth initiatives
• Develop and mentor individuals within the team to maximise performance and progression
What We’re Looking For
• 3+ years’ experience leading Account Management or Key Account teams
• Strong telecoms, connectivity, managed services or technology solutions background
• Previous hands-on strategic account management experience before moving into leadership
• Proven experience coaching and developing commercial teams
• Strong commercial understanding around revenue growth, margin management and customer retention
• Experience operating within consultative, solution-led sales environments
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage enterprise-level customers
• Ability to drive both performance and team development simultaneously
