Senior Actuarial Analyst - Reserving

About The Job
Our Reserving team has a key position in our evolving business. The team is crucial to our financial and regulatory reporting and pivotal to providing insight on our business performance.
Analysts within the team are involved in the data processing, discussions with stakeholders, projections and analysis that underpins the work of the team. This role includes the opportunity to study for the actuarial exams but is also open to qualified actuaries or those with experience who are no longer studying.
What you’ll spend your time doing:
Data Processing and Interrogation
1. Ensure the data that supports the reserving exercise is robust.
2. Create and run processes to ensure data is efficiently and effectively transferred for use in the reserving exercise.
3. Use understanding of data available to ensure the reserving exercise is undertaken in the most informative way.
Analysis and Projections
4. Undertake and review reserving projections to provide estimates for use in financial reporting and consideration of business performance
5. Undertake analysis on data to inform reserving conclusions and drive additional insight, including suggesting innovative analysis to understand emerging risks
6. Supporting the development and delivery of new reserving tools within the team, including the opportunity to work with new tools and software
Communication
7. Discuss trends and analysis with a range of business areas including claims, underwriting and pricing
8. Communicate outcomes of analysis to a wide range of stakeholders in order to ensure these are understood and have maximum impact
9. Actively contributing to the actuarial team culture of high performance and inclusivity

What you’ll need:
15. Experience in an actuarial role considering appropriate analysis and solving problems (does not have to be in reserving)
16. Good logical reasoning skills coupled with commercial acumen
17. Excellent communication skills
