Job Description
Senior Early Years Officer
Hailesland Early Years Centre
Salary: £37,626 - £44,257 (pro-rata for part-time)
Hours: 18 per week, 52 weeks
We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Senior Early Years Officer (SEYO) who is passionate about early years education and working in partnership with children and families. At Hailesland, we live our vision: through nurturing relationships, we promote curious minds, kind hearts, and a sense of belonging for all our children. We are looking for an individual with a strong skill set, knowledge, and proven experience as an early year's practitioner. We particularly value an early educator who has a sound understanding of play and believes that all children are competent and unique individuals.
Please ensure you meet the required qualification(s) and experience before applying, as outlined in the attached documentation. Only qualified candidates will be considered.
This post involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all staff feel valued and able to perform their best. We recognize the benefits of a diverse workforce with varied values, beliefs, experiences, and backgrounds.
To improve our organizational culture and create a positive working environment, we are shifting from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioral and technical (skills-based) assessment. This new approach will help us understand how you think and how you would embody our core behaviors: Respect, Integrity, and Flexibility. More information can be found on Our Behaviours - The City of Edinburgh Council webpage.
Our salary range typically reflects the starting salary, with annual increases until the top of the range is reached.
We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
