Charter Coordinator Location: Southampton (Hybrid - 1 day WFH) Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE Hours: Monday-Friday
About the Role
Are you passionate about yachts, shipping, and logistics? We're looking for a Charter Coordinator to join a global leader in yacht transportation. This is a commercially-focused role with a strong sales element - you'll be putting boats on boats and helping luxury yachts move safely and efficiently around the world.
You'll work closely with clients, agents, and partners, supporting the full booking process and helping secure new business opportunities. This is a unique chance to combine logistics knowledge with a commercial mindset in an exciting, niche sector.
What You'll Be Doing
* Manage the end-to-end booking process for yacht shipments, coordinating with ports, agents, and carriers
* Prepare commercial quotations and follow up on inquiries to generate new business
* Coordinate customs, documentation, and all related logistics for international movements
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
* Support issue resolution to ensure smooth, timely deliveries
* Liaise with international offices and partners to optimise shipment schedules
* Contribute to sales growth by identifying opportunities to add value and expand services
* Gain exposure to project cargo, out-of-gauge shipments, and specialised marine logistics
What We're Looking For
* Experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or marine shipping
* Familiarity with sea freight operations; cross-trade or export experience preferred
* Knowledge of project cargo, out-of-gauge, or break bulk shipments is advantageous
* Strong communication, organisational, and customer-facing skills
* Proficiency with MS Office; experience with Cargowise or similar systems is a plus
* Enthusiastic, proactive, and commercially minded with a keen interest in the marine sector
