Bank Facilities Domestic Assistant (Workington) - North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust
Bank hours when available Monday to Sunday. Flexible to work at different sites. Full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Undertake a range of cleaning and catering duties within the Hospital Premises.
* Maintain a high cleanliness standard across the trust, to meet the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021.
* Keep clinical areas, offices and public areas clean and tidy and provide patients with meals in conjunction with Nursing staff.
* At each site: manage varied start and finish times; earliest start time 6am and latest finish time 8pm.
* Domestic: collect linen stores as required; comply with infection prevention and control procedures; safeguard adults and vulnerable persons; vacuum carpets; damp dusting of furniture and fittings; mop floors; check that electrical equipment is in good condition and PAT tested; clean toilets, baths and washbasins; empty bins and dispose of waste following waste management regulations; clean equipment after use; assist with ward or departmental duties; undertake first wipe cleaning of bodily fluids as required; guard against needle stick injury risk; wear uniform and protective clothing; make beds; attend training as required.
* Catering: in conjunction with Nursing staff ensure patients are provided with appropriate meals; serve meals in a presentable and timely manner with suitable cutlery and condiments; prepare and wipe down meal tables and eating areas; probe and record temperature of food and serve; record waste levels at end of service.
Qualifications and requirements
* Full training will be provided; no specific prior qualifications required to apply.
* Comply with infection prevention and control procedures and safeguarding responsibilities.
* Comply with DBS and recruitment checks as required by the Trust (information provided in the role documentation).
