Overview
The post holder will assist with care of women under the direction and supervision of Midwifery trained staff in the hospital and community. The post holder is key in ensuring good communication with women and their families, liaison with key stakeholders and departments to ensure safe and timely discharge from hospital, working in par with the midwife or ward managers.

Our maternity unit at NUH comprises a 17 bedded labour ward, a 52 bedded maternity ward, stand-alone Maternity Day Assessment Unit and Triage, alongside stand-alone Midwife-Led Birth Centers, Antenatal Clinic and Booking Center. We are proud of our maternity service and are on an exciting maternity improvement journey. We have a large Community workforce consisting of 6 midwifery teams providing care to families in Newham. As part of the National Maternity Review, we have two Midwifery teams providing continuity of care to their caseload of women.
