Salary: £33,746 - £38,003. Location: HMP Wayland.

You’ll be required to work various shifts and weekends.
There’s no typical prison officer background. People come from diverse backgrounds and may have been parents, teachers, retail workers, or in the armed forces. You’ll have developed empathy, self-confidence and strong communication skills and you’ll build constructive, positive and professional relationships with offenders who could be at the lowest point in their lives. Teamwork is essential to keep the prison, offenders and colleagues safe.
In this role you may perform a variety of duties, including peacekeeping, counselling and teaching, in a unique environment aimed at protecting the public and helping to rehabilitate offenders.

Responsibilities
* Protect the public and contribute to the safety of the prison, staff and offenders.
* Build constructive, positive and professional relationships with offenders.
* Work as part of a team to support colleagues and operate as one unit.
* Engage with prisoners through a range of duties, including conflict resolution, counselling and education delivery where appropriate.
* Work varied shifts and weekends as required.
