The role:

We are looking for a qualified teacher with strong experience of SEND and autism who can lead the education, planning and support for a small group of young adults with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will be responsible for ensuring that each learner receives high-quality, tailored support and makes meaningful progress towards their outcomes across the Preparing for Adulthood pathways.

Each tutor group has no more than seven learners and is supported by a team of support staff, including 1:1 support where required. You will play a key leadership role, supporting and managing this team by mentoring staff, sharing daily plans, and carrying out supervisions and appraisals. You will also lead on planning and delivering engaging, structured learning, and ensure EHCP reviews and progress reports are completed to a high standard.

This role is ideal for someone who combines a strong educational background with a person-centred approach to support, and who wants to lead by example in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Who we are:

At Red2Green, we have a vision that everyone should be confident in their own ability, be part of a community, enjoy their life, have the best possible access to independence, and, if they desire to, should be able to work. We offer a range of opportunities to support and promote adults with autism and/or learning disabilities in Cambridgeshire to learn new skills, enjoy lots of different leisure activities, make new friends, gain confidence, and prepare themselves for employment where possible. 2. Integrate with their peer group and encourage social inclusion
3. Increase independent living skills
4. Reach their targets and outcomes in accordance with their Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and annual reviews
5. Feel supported in the workplace in regard to their autism

Key duties and responsibilities of the role:

6. Tutor a small group of learners with SEND, ensuring educational activities are clearly linked to their EHCP outcomes
7. Plan, lead and evaluate engaging sessions across the Preparing for Adulthood curriculum: independent living, employment, community and health
8. Share clear, accessible daily session plans with support staff to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery
9. Lead and attend EHCP reviews, write annual offers, and track progress in line with each learner’s outcomes
10. Create and review Individual Learning Plans, Positive Behaviour Support Plans and risk assessments
11. Provide day-to-day mentoring and formal line management to support staff, including supervisions and performance reviews
12. Communicate professionally with families, carers and professionals to support learner progress
13. Identify unmet needs within the group and work with the Aspirations Manager to find solutions

Person specification:

You will have:

14. Experience working with autistic individuals and people with learning disabilities
15. Confidence supporting people with multiple or complex diagnoses
16. A teaching qualification (QTS or adult equivalent)
17. A strong understanding of EHCPs and outcome-based education
18. Experience leading or mentoring staff in an educational or support setting
19. Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and positive behaviour support
20. Ability to plan structured sessions and communicate clearly with others
21. A flexible, proactive approach and excellent teamwork skills

Benefits:

22. Red2Green is located in a beautiful rural environment, with free and ample parking,
23. We contribute 4% employer pension contributions
24. Paid 20-minute break
25. As a member of our support staff, you are provided with Red2Green T-shirts and hoodies.
26. Training is provided and undertaken during working hours.
27. We make staff wellbeing a priority, with 2 Mental Health First Aiders, and regular supervision sessions with managers.
