In this role, you will help deliver our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy whilst assuring compliance with the Thames Water Management System, Standards, Processes, and Procedures. The role is primarily field-based, with some hybrid working. It will require frequent travel, generally within a specified region but occasionally throughout the wider Thames Water supply area.What you'll be doing as a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor Lead site assurance visits to verify compliance against Legal and Thames Water Standards, procedures and processesDeliver and monitor performance against the Safety, Health and Wellbeing strategy and objectives, system, standards, processes and proceduresSupport stakeholders by providing relevant HSW performance data and promoting HSW initiatives through performance meetingsLead SHE Assurance of high and very high risk sites including COMAHAdvise stakeholders and contractors on HSW matters including compliance with applicable legislation, industry best practice and Thames Water Management System, Standards, Processes, and Procedures, liaising with Enforcing Authorities and professional groupsSupport stakeholder produce accurate business case for HSW concerns including details of cost, time, benefit for any proposed mitigationsLead high risk incident investigations as well as support stakeholders complete low risk incident investigations. Investigations should identify non-compliance, root causes analysis and risks, with action plans agreed with the site management teamVerify incidents, actions and safety observations being tracked to closure in a timely manner to avoid becoming overdueSupport stakeholders identify training requirements including reviewing and monitoring of TSR's etcSupport in the delivery of toolbox talks, inductions and briefings regarding HSW campaigns or concernsBuild collaborative relationships with stakeholders and Contractors to review and maintain performance, and drive continuous improvementLead or participate in working groups for reduction of key operational risks, on some occasions gaining expertise to become Subject Matter ExpertPerforming face fit testing Base Location: Hybrid - Thames ValleyWorking Pattern or hours: 36 hoursWhat you should bring to the roleTo thrive in this role, the essential criteria you'll need is: NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent AND/OR able to demonstrate significant experience of an operational environmentUK Driving licenceWillingness to work towards CMIOSH or equivalent - Candidates with excellent and relevant operational experience will be supported to obtain the relevant qualification to achieve CMIOSH or equivalentTechnical knowledge of a related or operational industry e.g. utilities, infrastructure, transport, manufacturing or construction is advantageous, though not essentialUnderstanding of process safety, CDM and or working in the highway What's in it for you?
