Job Description
Our client is a leading manufacturer supplying the construction and residential sectors across the UK & Ireland. We are recruiting a Maintenance Fitter responsible for preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient operations. The role offers Monday to Friday dayshift, providing an excellent opportunity for those seeking to avoid shift work. Overtime beyond 40 hours is paid at a premium rate.
Suitable candidates will need to hold a Level 3 Engineering qualification or similar, with maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Responsibilities
1. Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facilities.
2. Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs on machinery to minimize downtime.
3. Diagnose faults to resolve issues and identify root causes.
4. Carry out planned maintenance and contribute to schedules.
5. Ensure compliance with company HSEQ standards and eliminate risks during maintenance.
6. Record maintenance activities using appropriate software.
7. Promote best practices in maintenance, quality, housekeeping, and H&S.
8. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
Qualifications & Skills
* Level 3 qualified apprenticeship in Engineering or similar.
* Proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
* Strong mechanical skills, including welding and fitting.
* Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and motors.
* Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
