SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunities – Lancaster & Surrounding Areas Location: Lancaster, Morecambe, Heysham, Carnforth (LA1–LA7) Start Date: 23rd February 2026 Pay: £13.75–£14.50 per hour Contract: Part-time, full-time, and flexible roles available Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary and secondary schools across the Lancaster area. These positions offer the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs in supportive and well-established school settings. About the Role You will be supporting pupils with needs such as Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and behavioural challenges. Duties may include: Delivering focused 1:1 and small-group support Implementing EHCPs and IEPs Using communication tools such as PECS, where required Supporting behaviour management and contributing to a positive classroom environment Working collaboratively with teachers and SEN teams to deliver tailored support Roles are based within schools recognised for strong practice and nurturing environments, offering opportunities to contribute to inclusive, high‑quality learning. What We’re Looking For We welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate: Experience supporting children with SEN or behavioural needs Understanding of a range of learning needs and support strategies Knowledge of EHCPs/IEPs (desired but not essential) A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach Ability to adapt to individual learner needs Local availability in Lancaster or willingness to travel Relevant experience is highly valued, and additional SEN training can be supported.
