About the Role
This role is part of a team dedicated to developing and maintaining our content creation and distribution workflows. These sit on cloud native platforms and support multiple content types from articles for our magazines and websites to videos for our social platforms. You will contribute to all areas of delivery including planning and design, integration, documentation and testing.
Responsibilities
* Design, build and maintain cloud-native platforms.
* Build integrations with third party platforms using APIs.
* Create applications to manipulate and onboard content.
* Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
* Develop and maintain automated processes for provisioning, monitoring and scaling cloud resources.
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
* Document setup and deployment procedures.
* Collaborate closely with the technical support team and platform managers.
* Implement and maintain robust processes for data protection.
Requirements
* Solid hands-on experience of AWS.
* Experience of building cloud services using a serverless and event-driven architecture.
* Proficiency in Python and Bash.
* Good grasp of:
* Networking and cloud security.
1. Web protocols and authentication mechanisms.
2. RESTful API design principles and best practice.
3. Infrastructure deployment and configuration e.g. CloudFormation.
4. CI/CD tools e.g. GitLab or GitHub Actions.
* Experience of using well-architected frameworks.
* A desire to explore new concepts and innovate.
* Strong communication skills.
* Able to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
