Job description
Our client, a prominent player in the Highways sector, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cambridge. This role offers an excellent chance to work on diverse and exciting projects, particularly schemes across Environmental and Heavy Civils.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor contract costs against budgets
2. Identify potential risks and evaluate options for control
3. Prepare estimates
4. Procure sub-contractors and prepare subcontract documents
5. Assess and certify interim and final payments to subcontractors
6. Prepare and agree main contract variations
7. Assist in the preparation of documents for dispute resolutions (adjudications, arbitrations, etc.)
8. Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and company procedures
Job Requirements:
9. Ambitious individual with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach
10. Innovative problem-solving abilities and capacity to negotiate across various levels of the construction environment
11. Strong numeracy and IT skills to meet the financial and mathematical demands of the role
12. Experience working on civil engineering schemes, including Flood Protection, with a main contractor
13. Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working with the NEC form of contract
