Role Overview
As a Product Security Engineer at Rolls‑Royce you will secure a range of Roll‑Royce products against evolving security threats throughout the product life cycle. You will work in cross‑functional teams across the three core businesses: Civil aerospace, Defence, and Power systems.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to Secure Cyber Resilient Engineering (SCRE) of products, providing technical direction across architecture, requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support.
* Develop, implement, document, and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines, tools, and training.
* Lead security life‑cycle activities (concept through release) including regulatory certification/qualification (Risk Management Framework, DO‑326A, Secure By Design, IEC 62443, etc.).
* Collaborate with government, customers, suppliers, and industry experts to meet system and program requirements.
* Provide feedback on system security and resilience best practice and disseminate techniques, policies, procedures, and knowledge across the business.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, Controls, Systems, or Cybersecurity with 1+ years of experience, OR
* Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with 1+ years of experience in Systems Security Engineering on physical embedded systems, OR 2+ years in a related Engineering role.
* Familiarity with Systems Engineering on complex systems and excellent systems thinking aptitude.
* Knowledge of embedded systems and the technical skills required to develop, implement, and secure cyber‑physical systems.
* Experience or interest in cybersecurity and cyber threats.
* Knowledge of Systems Security policies and standards (NIST SP 800‑160, DO‑326, UK Secure By Design, IEC 62443, RMF, DoDI 5000.83).
* Excellent communication skills: able to influence without authority and describe complex ideas simply to non‑technical people.
