About the Occupational Health Advisor Role
As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will deliver a full remit of occupational health services including case management, health surveillance, and fitness to work assessments, helping organisations maintain a healthy and productive workforce.
You’ll work both autonomously in a standalone onsite post and collaboratively as part of a national multidisciplinary Occupational Health team, supporting employees and managers with expert, evidence‑based advice.
Occupational Health Advisor Key Responsibilities
* Delivering Occupational Health case management, including complex cases
* Conducting health surveillance and fitness for work medicals
* Carrying out clinical duties such as:
o Vaccinations
o Phlebotomy
o Health screening questionnaires
* Supporting employee wellbeing and health promotion programmes
* Providing guidance to enable safe and early return to work
* Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with UK GDPR and data protection
* Contributing to service improvement and occupational health best practice
* Supporting colleagues, training, and team development where required
Occupational Health Advisor Requirements
* NMC Registered Nurse
* Recognised Occupational Health qualification (degree/diploma) or equivalent experience
* Proven experience in:
o Case management (including complex referrals)
o Health surveillance & medicals
o Vaccinations and phlebotomy
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Experience within a commercial or corporate occupational health setting (desirable)
* IT proficiency including Microsoft Office systems
* Commitment to CPD and professional development
